The workshop in the conservatory.  Heavy equipment: pillar drill, lathe, band-saw, etc. is in the garage shed which is too cold in the winter for carving.  The light is excellent being a more or less north facing (artist's light).

Drawing, painting and general construction is done at the other end.  The kitchen is through the window on the left, useful for passing cups of tea through. Unfortunately I have to go round to make it!

All carving tools are permanently  out for immediate use, general tools in the left foreground with glues, various strings and threads in the cupboards along with more tools and materials.

The rotary tool on the left side of bench is the tool sharpener and honer.  The heavy rubber mat traps wood chips and stops them being trodden through the house (Kath may be looking over my shoulder!).

The view from the bench (actually from the kitchen!)

A few of Ted's puppets.  Mostly dressed by Kath but more recent ones, of course, by Ted.

Kath holds two Jig Dolls.

Those above are jig dolls with a couple of marionettes operating mini jig dolls.

Ann in  blue jeans and Kate in the red top are my two grand-daughters.  Kate teaches drama and Ann is just completing her doctorate in forensic science.

Three medieval figures made at various times in Belgium by Ted.

The five figures are a few characters from our 'History of Clowns' and from left to right are: Shakespeare, Joey Grimaldi, Roman clown, Medieval jester and Richard Tarleton.

This is the head of the Toby dog shown on the home page.

School workshop, no tangle, marionettes (boys are square, girls are rounded!), for use in Infant/Junior schools and all are individually named.  We always tried to use top quality examples and materials in all our school work.   Next to them is a skeleton that operates a little skeleton who juggles a skull.  As this was part of a set of skeleton cabaret turns, each was minimally dressed; the lady trapeze artiste, for example,  had a twenties head-band with feather and a lamp-shade fringe skirt but no knickers!.
